Postcard, ESCo tram just past the intersection of Doveton St. and Sturt St
Photographically printed black and white postcard with an impressed image of an ESCo tram just past the intersection of Doveton St. and Sturt St. travelling east along the north side of Sturt. Street towing a heavily laden horse tram as a trailer. Photo appears to be taken soon after opening of the electric trams, as the tram does not have any destination box above the driver. Possibly summer 1905/1906. Numerous people in the street, some horse drawn vehicles in the photograph. Shows buildings along the south side of Sturt St. and part of the verandah of the building at the NE corner of Doveton St. For a list and description of the same base image see Archives file - "Notes on ESCo Tram towing a heavily loaded trailer" On rear is places for correspondences stamp, address. Yields information about the an unusual accident with a milk cart, no horse in the view, on the Mt Pleasant line outside a milk bar.Black and White copy photograph of a newspaper photograph taken by The Courier - Bogie car after collision with horse drawn milk cart, Barkly & Gladstone Sts corner. Photo taken 28/6/1966, published 29/6/1966. Has Frampton's Milk bar in the left hand side of the photo with a Peters ad, workers recovering bottles. Note the milk in the grooves of the track. Would appear tram was inbound with destination of Gardens via Drummond St. Nth, member of the crew reversing the tram to assist in the clean up, with an inspector at the far end. Series of four Black and white photographs of tram 26 on No. 2 road at the BTPS Depot, undergoing replacement of the broken frame on the Brill 21E truck. The tramcar record sheets note that the car was lifted 15-3-1975 and lower 27-7-1975 and tested on the same day. Form used to record a summary of the working hours of crews, showing the total hours and the hours worked when one man operation. Gives a list of names at the time when the form prepared. Also used by Jerry? as a sheet of paper to write out the details of No. 9 run for Saturdays as a reference document and noted it was last time on the Victoria St route and recorded the tramcar number.Duplicated typed form, foolscap sheet, titled "Summary of daily time sheets - Traffic Department", giving name, total time, one man rate time, and spread of hours. Series of 15 colour route maps for various tram lines or groups of tram lines for the MMTB. Some have the Transport Information Centre telephone printed on them, others have a label stuck on. Some are finished with a plastic laminate finish on either one or both sides. Show the major cross streets, parks, schools, other tram routes, major stop numbers and railway lines.
