Four Mordialloc-Chelsea High School students outside the school Tuck Shop on the corner of Attenborough Road and Station Street Aspendale. The shop was located across from the school and run by Mr Gustav Fahnert and his family. Mrs Rubina Fahnert nee Brown was the daughter of Thomas Brown who was a son of Hugh Brown, the pioneer market gardener of the Aspendale/Mordialloc area. The Brown's house still remains on the second block from the corner of Station Street and Attenborough Road (as of February 2018). Isobel Caldwell was born 3 August 1930. She married John McNamara in Numurkah on 4 April 1953. Isobel was skilled knitter and won many prizes in local shows. These books were owned and used by sisters, Hilda and Elsa Wehner who were the daughters of Hermann Wehner, early Orbost blacksmith. Sir James Cantlie was a Scottish physician who was a pioneer of First Aid.These first aid guides produced by the St John Ambulance, the largest teacher of first aid in Australia, were an important addition to the home library and used regularly. Two small books on first aid. Both books are published by St John Ambulance Association. 1829.1 is First Aid to the Injured - a small book with a black cover. It is the 37th edition. 227pp. It was written by Colonel Sir James Cantlie. 1829.2 is Home Nursing - a small book with a brown cover. 272pp. It was written by Mildred Heather-Bigg. The title and spine printing is white on both books.1829.1 has Hilda Wehner written inside the front cover. 1829.2 has Elsa Wehner written inside the front cover.

Trudi Hogeman made this fan from old greeting cards. This is an old way of making fans with blanket stitch around the edges. She was a member of a craft group when she made this object. Trudi Hogeman died in January 2017 and is buried at Marlo. Her daughter is heather Terrell, president of the Orbost Historical Society.This item is an example of a handcrafted item and reflects the needlework skills and hobbies of women at the time.Six teardrop shaped leaves held together by a paper clip to form a fan.
