Previous issues did not have light rail listed. The light rail to St Kilda and Port Melbourne commenced in Nov. 1987. Has The Met logo on the rear. Gives extensive details and comparisons of the battery storage system compared to the electric tramcars. Known as "Beach Cars" - see reference. Notes the work of Edison, batteries. Signed by R. It was built by the Melbourne Tramways Trust and operated by the cable tram operator, Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Co. Provides a report on a conference between the MTOCo and five City Councils held on 17 Aug 1892 about the method of valuation which councils levied rates for the Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Co. The company appealed these. Looks as case law in the UK and whether under the Victorian Acts this would be applicable. Reported by the Chairman, J H Maddock on 27-9-1892.
