The information given with the photograph was that Margaret Baker is buried in the grave in the foreground. She was buried on 17 May 1882 aged 63 and she was from the Sunbury Asylum. She is buried in the Church of England, Section E, Plot 451. In this photograph are : L -R Margory Smith, Margaret Vincent, Michael Pardew, Rob Young and George Thomas. Orbost Apex Club donated $1,800 to the Orbost Continuing Care Appeal (now Lochiel House). The money had been raised at a successful New Year's Eve Ball. Margory Smith and Margaret Vincent, Acting President, were the O.C.C.A representatives. Michael Pardew was the co-ordinator of the New Year's Eve Ball, Rob Young was the Apex President and George Thomas was the Apex Social Director. Apex clubs were made up of volunteers who "raise awareness about social justice issues, assist the needy in a practical way and contribute resources to causes" (ref Apex website) The Apex Club of Orbost was a volunteer service club which contributed to the Orbost community. This crystal goblet was presented to Mrs. T. O'Brien (Margaret O'Brien nee Leyden) on 26 January 1915 when the Starkie Memorial was unvieled by the then Shire President Cr. O'Brien. Phillip Dresher (1823-1906), was born in Germany and emigrated to Ireland before coming to Australia in 1852. He was married to Margaret Cosgrove. After Phillip died his son John Thomas (1873-1919) took over the business. John Thomas was also a watchman for the fire brigade.black and white photograph. William Thomas Densley was the son of William Densley and Margaret Threlfall. He was born in 1871 in Eaglehawk and was killed in an accident on the Bulong Road, Kalgoorlie in 1902. At the time he was a teamster employed by Farrell and Co., Kalgoorlie. Stories of the backgrounds of a cross-section of City of Boroondara residents focusing on how they came to live in Australia and in the City of Boroondara in particular. Many were based on oral histories. Commissioned by the City of Boroondara, the team behind "From Many Lands" also received a Local History Award, which allowed them to mount a small touring exhibition.
