Holy Trinity Anglican Church has been a prominent part of the Kew Community since 1863. This work forms part of the collection assembled by the historian Dorothy Rogers, that was donated to the Kew Historical Society by her son John Rogers in 2015. The manuscripts, photographs, maps, and documents were sourced by her from both family and local collections or produced as references for her print publications. Many were directly used by Rogers in writing ‘Lovely Old Homes of Kew’ (1961) and 'A History of Kew' (1973), or the numerous articles on local history that she produced for suburban newspapers. Most of the photographs in the collection include detailed annotations in her hand.The Rogers Collection provides a comprehensive insight into the working habits of a historian in the 1960s and 1970s. The window consists of two lights, with the Good Samaritan as the subject of the left hand light, and St. Luke of the right-hand light. Above the two subjects is the figure of an angel, carrying a scroll, inscribed with the words, "A just man, and one that feared God, and of good report." The original photo is part of an album taken by W.Walls, the front page of which is inscribed "The Hill/Sunbury/April 1897". Whilst most of the photos relate to the environs of the asylum, there are others taken around Sunbury and elsewhere. The original album is held as part of the Mental health Collection. During 2000 this was transferred from Mont Park to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.The photo of St Mary's Anglican Church has been taken from Stawell Street, Sunbury. The Anglican Church at Kiewa. The first stone was laid on the 29th Oct. 1924. In 1879, the Yackandandah rector commenced services on Sundays in private homes in the Kiewa Valley. In 1911 Anglicans met in the Kiewa Methodist Church to elect a committee to organise financial offers and so it eventually became a vestry.The town Kiewa is in the Kiewa Valley. The church served other communities in the Valley. The book records the local populations and their commitment to religion. Holy Trinity Anglican Church is one of the parishes of the Diocese of Melbourne in the Anglican Church of Australia. Services of worship began in this building in March, 1863. The Vicarage was built in 1873, and both carry National Heritage classifications.
