Historical information

There had been a detachment of the Victorian Mounted rifles at Benalla since 1885. Later, the Headquarters of the 8th Light Horse was located at Benalla 1920-1940. 8/13 Victorian Mounted Rifles had a squadron, later a troop at Benalla 1948-1990.
