Administrative record - Annual Report/s, Footscray Tramway Trust, "Footscray Tramway Trust", 1919
Third Annual Report of the Footscray Tramway Trust, for the year ending 30/9/1919. Lists the Trust Members, Consulting Engineers, and Secretary. Details the Trust's activities, finances, and a short review of activities noting the supply of energy from the Victorian Railways Newport Power Station. Engineering report by Christie & Gardiner detailing the construction, welding of joints, tar surfacing, substation equipment, fitting equipment to the seven ex HTT tramcars at Footscray, delivery of equipment for the tramcars, but a delay in the delivery of the trolley wire. There are four pages of accounts and one page for the Auditor's statement. The Trust was taken over by the MMTB during Feb. 1920 who completed the work and commissioned the tramway.Yields information about the construction of the Footscray Tramway Trust tramways.Eleven foolscap sheets, duplicated, pinned with a removable foldable clip in top left hand corner. 1579.1 - Bound specification - 20 sheets - stapled within brown paper covers and sealed with black tape on the left hand side. Titled "Hawthorn Tramways Trust Specification of Car Bodies Contract No. 12". Gives the General conditions of the contract, specifications and forms for tendering. Prepared by McCarty Underwood & Co. Consulting Engineers 31 Queen St Melbourne. Contains completed tender forms, prices and some minor initialled alterations to the tender. The document is the HTT or Trusts copy of the tender and it has been signed by Duncan and Fraser and the HTT and on the rear sheet has the seal of the Trust. Gives prices and dates for delivery of 10 bogie and 9 combination (4 wheel) tramcar bodies. .2 - letter - typed on quarto paper - from Duncan & Fraser dated 13/4/1915 - advising that they had posted their tender document and questioning the type of "Ash" timber to be used. Has been endorsed on the left hand margin as item G referred to in the tender document. .3 - letter - typed on quarto paper - from Duncan & Fraser dated 13/4/1915 - advising that they had instructed the National Bank of Australasia to hand you the fixed deposit, but it had been sent to Adelaide in error. Letter enclosed the deposit receipt. .4 - Receipt on pre-printed receipt paper with a South Australian Government duty stamped impressed into the paper on the right hand edge, with an adhesive strip on the rear of the left hand side. Timetable - 60 pages printed on off white sheets, plus light grey cover and in the rear, a foldout map showing tram routes of the PMTT etc, centre stapled, titled "The Prahran and Malvern Tramway Trust's Official Time Table", dated July 1918 and priced at 1d. Gives details of the timetables for each routes, fares, signs, notices, tickets and details of the Combined round trips by tram. Has advertisements for Anderson's Furniture of Chapel St Prahran and E. Crook Men's Boys and Boots Chapel St, South Yarra. Map details the Circular Tramway Route, by cable and electric - shows the lines of the PMTT, HTT, rail lines and cable tramways. On rear details the trip, fare (9d for 16 miles), changing points and how tickets could be purchased. NOTE: See letter from donor on htd1389doc - page 3 - re return of item if we get another copy.
