Used to hold docket books in an office environment.A stationary that is associated with a now-dissolved corporate body which existed in the 1980s.A dark green docket holder, made of plastic/synthetic material with cardboard as internal filling. The logo of The Met is printed on 3/5 sides, with the text "METROPOLITAN TRANSIT" printed below, all in bright yellow. One of the sides has a cut-out to facilitate inserting/removing paper. Set of two notebook or lined journals, with light brown pig skin binding strips and in each of the corners binding, faint ruled Collins 4393 books with red labels on the outside binding, sewn sections, printed glued inside covers. Each book has been ruled in red ink, headed year and month, days, page totals with data entered for each depot of the distance or mileage or kilometres for each date, including separate tram and bus entries. .1 - Blue cloth covered with Letraset, black plastic strip on outside "Tram / Bus Kilometres" for the period 1-7-1965 to 30-6-1975. Notes change over to Kms from miles on 1/7/1974. Has head office contact details on the first page. .2 - Red cloth cover with Letraset black plastic strip on outside "Kilometres" drawn up for the period - 1-7-1975 to 13-11-1985, though drawn up to Jan. 1985. Set of two different books, but with the same content about the Westinghouse Traction Brake Company, pamphlet 2412, titled "Westinghouse S6A and S6B Electric Compressor Governors" (known as Beetle back Governors). Each book contains 4 typed sheets on instructions and the working of the governor and six photograph illustration sheets. .1 - has been copied possibly from .2 and bound into a manila folder with a large "W" and "Westinghouse Traction Brake" labels stapled to the right hand side. .2 - is an original Westinghouse document dated 1916. Victorian Railways Rail & Tram Monthly Periodical book of tickets with conditions of travel on the inside covers. See reference page 124/125 and Figure 6-35. Book of 60 tickets (No. 49) for Feb. 1922 from North Road to St Kilda. The traveller also had to hold a monthly rail ticket for St Kilda station to Melbourne. The conductor would tear out each ticket and hand half one portion back to the traveller. Has been stamped "cancelled". See item 1688 for a single sheet example.Demonstrates a Victorian Railways Rail and Tram monthly ticket for a specific section or trip on the St Kilda Brighton tramway. May have been used as a training sample.
