Legacy raised funds from the sale of Christmas cards for many years. The years these were used is unknown but they illustrate the subjects chosen by Legacy. They were: Princes Bridge and Melbourne City 1970 Flinders Street form the Melbourne railway station (Christmas 1968) Melbourne from the South, near St Kilda Road (Christmas 1972) A bush track at Wonga Park Victoria by Dudley Drew (Christmas 1974) Unknown years: Three wise men, dog with holly, three children around baby Jesus. Victorian Railways Rail & Tram Monthly Periodical book of tickets with conditions of travel on the inside covers. See reference page 124/125 and Figure 6-35. Book of 60 tickets (No. 49) for Feb. 1922 from North Road to St Kilda. The traveller also had to hold a monthly rail ticket for St Kilda station to Melbourne. The conductor would tear out each ticket and hand half one portion back to the traveller. Has been stamped "cancelled". This booklet from 1879 was given to the Moorabbin Historical Society when the Robert Keys Leader Cup Trophy, 1882-1883 was re-discovered at 'Box Cottage' Museum in 2009. The Leader Cup Trophy, MAV 00001, is also itemised in this booklet (p9) The Leader Newspaper offered the 'Silver Cup, value Five Guineas for the best fruit garden in the Brighton District. The Proprietors of the English, Scottish and Australian Chartered Bank offered an second prize of three Guineas Commencing in 1856, the Brighton Horticultural Society only disbanded in 2009, and most of their archival holdings were given to the Brighton Historical Society. This booklet gives a good idea of the large varieties of plants, poultry and the skills of the pioneer settlers of the Brighton District.This Booklet describes the Schedule of Prizes for the 1879 Grand Annual Exhibition of the Brighton Horticultural Society in Brighton Victoria. The Booklet was donated to the Moorabbin Historical Society in 2009 upon the disbanding of the Brighton Horticultural Society..at that time. The Moorabbin Historical Society possesses the 1882 'Leader Cup Trophy' (cat 00001) presented to Robert Keys for the best Fruit Garden. This booklet is kept in the same cabinet as the Robert Key's Silver Trophy. After Henry Dendy's Special Survey in 1841 allotments of land were sold or rented to pioneer settlers who developed market gardens , fruit gardens and poultry farms in the Brighton area. Newspaper clipping titled: “End of the line” The Sun, Saturday July 22 1972 Photos and text of “toastrack” tram # 20 Tram from St Kilda Station to Brighton Beach electric street railway, Bob Prentice, Prahran back garden, 1913 vintage, bought the tram in 1959 when the line closed. Retains original colour scheme of chocolate, cream and read. Served its last days as a breakdown tram confined to Elwood depot. Built by Pengelley & Co of Adelaide in 1913, entered service between May and July 1913. Number 20 served for 5 years until the toastrack design became obsolete and it was replaced. Following the complete closure of the St Kilda - Brighton Electric street railway (tramway) in 1959, the Brighton St Kilda Bus lines operated a service under a contract with the Victorian Railways with a joint ticketting arrangement. These tickets are weekly tickets for various locations along the former tramway. Those tickets available for Melbourne have the conditions of travel on the rear. The two vertical stripes indicated that the ticket was available to pass through the gates at Flinders St or Spencer St, while the large cross indicated to a ticket checker that the ticket was not available beyond St Kilda station or to pass through a set of gates. Following the closure of the St Kilda Brighton Electric Street Railway (tramway), the Victorian Railways continued to sell through rail and bus tickets from Flinders St Station. This set of 10 are samples of these issued by the various booking offices or wiindows at Flinders St station.
