Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat tramways and how they were presented at the various times during the SEC control.Five number - 5 No. - Paper SEC ticket - 10d in value, (10 pence) - black ink on off white paper, numbered A151322,57263, 187958, 190442 and 193253. The ticket price is in black ink while the ticket number itself is in black ink. On rear in black ink is a diagonal criss cross or tartan pattern. All tickets have been used. Not numbered on rear. All tickets and Reg Item 4006, 4007, 4009 to 4018 were received originally in a folded cloth wrapper - wax canvas? - see Reg item 4009. Block of 100 tickets, 3d, Ballarat Vintage Tramway, A00001 to A000100. Printed on white paper, black ink with the "3d" and A prefix in red ink. Issued commencing 1 January 2008, to replace the 80c child single journey ticket. Stapled with a heavy staple at the top of the ticket onto a heavy brown cardboard sheet. With worksheet is a "Notice to Traffic Staff", issued by the Operations Manager, 26/10/2007. Extract Hansard, Legislative Council, 2/10/1968, titled "Ballarat and Bendigo Tramways - Proposed Abandonment". Sir Percy Byrnes moved that the proposed abandonment by the SEC be not made. Pages 471 to 494 reports on the speach by Sir Percy, I.A. Swinburne who seconded the motion, V.O. Dickie who opposed the motion for the Government. Others who spoke were , F. J. Granter, F.S. Grimwade, J.M. Tripovich. The Motion was supported by the Country and Labor parties who had the numbers in the upper house. Set of 5 documents for the "Farewell to Bendigo Trams" tour conducted by the ARHS Vic Div and the TMSV, first scheduled for Sat. 12/2/1972, but delayed to Sat. 4/3/1972 due to SECV Power restrictions on the day. 3277.1 - documents 1 to 3 stapled in top left hand corner. 1. Tour circular, printed on pink paper with a photo of No. 28 at Golden Square terminus. Has logos of ARHS Vic Div and TMSV, part missing - used for booking. Gives details of the purpose of the tour, approx. times, refreshments, a booklet and fares. Organiser Victor Isaacs and Neil Morrow Booking Officer. Printed on foolscap paper in landscape format 2. Victorian Railways S Circular, or special train notice, S.224/72, single page giving train schedules, loads, motive power, carriage numbers and tickets. Signed by J.C. Crute as Chief Traffic Manager. Dated 19/1/1972. Printed on foolscap paper. 3. Ticket circular printed on quarto paper giving times of departure and arrival back, noting its express run to Melbourne. 3277.2 - documents 4 to 5, stapled in top left hand corner. 4. Set of two sheets, one printed on foolscap card paper, the other on foolscap paper, giving a graph of the tram workings, showing the special trams (tours A and B) overlain with the Saturday timetable. Dated 4/3/1972. 5. Victorian Railways S Circular, or special train notice, S.435/72, single page giving train schedules, loads, motive power, carriage numbers and tickets. Signed by J.C. Gives details of 38 tables or runs, numbered from 1 Run to 38 Run. Each sheet headed "Weekday", three runs per sheet. Saturdays - 1 to 34, Sunday - 1 to 10. Each sheet has in the top right hand corner LJD/3/70. Time table operated until the commencement of closure of the system. Features a photo of No. 18 being towed along the Albert St. track by a tractor and the hand over from the SEC to the Borough at the resting place of the tram. Features Cr. N. F. Donald and Mr. I. F. Pellas at the handover. Notes the significance of the tram to the Borough - decorated for the Borough's centenary in 1965.
