Set on a larger platform surrounded by four cannons and bluestone edge. Set in parkland with entry gateway at Eureka Street, Ballarat.Eureka Stockade Sunday Morning December 3rd 1854. This tablet was created by the Eureka Improvement Committee 1923. To honour the memory of the Heroic Pioneers who fought and fell, on this Sacred spot, in the cause of liberty. The programme is for the Victorian Methodist Centenary 1935-36 Thanksgiving Meeting which was held at the Melbourne Town Hall on Wednesday, 2nd October, 1935 at 7.30 pm. Speakers were the President of the Conference and Rev J W Grove, Rev T C Rentoul, Mr J W Kitto and Rev R Williams. The address was given by Rev Professor A E Albiston, Secretary General.Pale green paper with green text and image of John Wesley. Attached inside is a pink slip of paper for a donation to the Centenary Thanksgiving Fund. The first church building on this site faced Erica St. The "new" church was built in 1929 facing Balwyn Road. The new church was built in memory of Sir Aaron Danks. The Architect was Mr Louis R. Glen Iris Presbyterian Church on the corner of High Street and Allison Avenue. The foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Mr R. G. Menzies and was opened on 21 November 1953.
