... added 21-1-2016 Tramways trams Melbourne MMTB MTA Calendar ...Single sheet colour calendar for 1983, published by the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), successors to the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board. Large portion of the calendar features the changeover from the MMTB to the MTA - eg green colours replacing the orange. Also on the base of the cartoon by Augustine is a number of caricatures of well known MMTB/MTA personnel. On top of the calendar has the letters M&MTB being demolished and those of the MTA being positioned. Printed on heavy cartridge paper. Titled "Schedule of Fares and Charges - 26-1-1969". 2nd copy of 704 added 4/10/2015 from donation of Brendan Allan. 704.1 - as above, but with mileages added by the SEC - 26-2-1971 as part of the Transport Regulation Board review of tramway and bus services pending the replacement of the tramways later in 1971. Demonstrates an aspect of the SEC method of advising fares and sections to the travelling public. Also gave a small map that would have been useful to crews to explain to visitors where things were. Used in tramcars when trimmed. This poster made for the 1966 or second last fare increase. 831.1 - Aluminium plate cut and stamped with the letters and words "467026 1 / BALLARAT TRAMWAY SO / BALLARAT VIC". Used by the BTPS/BTM in the ANZ Bankcard machine as the ID plate from the late 1970's to July 1998, when replaced by the Commonwealth Bank Machine. Plate salvaged for archive storage. Has two holes and cut outs for location onto machine. 831.2 - Plastic card -with words " ANZ BANK / MERCHANT SUMMARY CARD / CREDIT CARDS" and embossed onto cards is "561057 3011 467026 1 / BALLARAT TRAMWAY SOC / BALLARAT VIC". B&W print and scanned images of a coloured postcard lent to the BTM by Mr. Norm DePomeroy, Dec. 1997. Image is an ESCo tram just past the intersection of Doveton St. and Sturt St. travelling east along the north side of Sturt. Steet towing a heavily laden horse tram as a trailer. Photo appears to be taken soon after opening of the electric trams, as the tram does not have any destination box above the driver. Possibly summer 1905/1906. Numerous people in the street, some horse drawn vehicles in the photograph. Shows buildings along the south side of Sturt St. and part of the verandah of the building at the NE corner of Doveton St. 1 copy held at 8/98. Image is of a horse tram leave the Grenville St. terminus, to travel west bound along the north side of Sturt St. Has many pedestrians in photo and some horse drawn vehicles. Shows the position of the horse tram track in Sturt St., north side, was not up against the south side kerb. Postcard has a Christmas message on the base of it.
