The ARU was formed in 1920 and merging with other rail and public transport unions to form the RTBU in 1993. Preprinted ticket from a monthly book of tickets, good for one journey during Feb. 1922 only - ticket number 048 on left hand side and 059 and 060 on right hand side. Good for Sections 1 to 4, between St Kilda and Park St. Sheet has been perforated vertically and horizontally. Would appear that these were pre-purchased, torn off horizontally by the passenger, handed to the conductor who would tear it in half (vertically) and return one half to the passenger. Both parts have been stamped "Cancelled VR". All tickets were available for 60 only tram trips, but allowed unlimited rail trips with 60 separate squares for a tram conductor to punch. This ticket is for First class travel, from North Road to Melbourne, though the rail portion only provided for first-class travel. Ticket No. 002 for September 1948. Memo dated 6/5/1918 about closing revenue accounts at Elwood depot when the end of the month falls on a Sunday. It would appear that the accounts were being closed off on the following Monday, rather than on Sunday. This has become a long-standing practice. Set of four documents regarding the issue of a Scholar's Concession Ticket to Barbara Talbot, a student at the Star of the Sea who turned 18 years of age during the currency of the ticket. It was marked not available after that date and had been returned to the Elwood office. The Memo from the "Auditor of Receipts" requested that an additional payment be collected from the student. Book of 60 tickets (No. 49) for Feb. 1922 from North Road to St Kilda. The traveller also had to hold a monthly rail ticket for St Kilda station to Melbourne. The conductor would tear out each ticket and hand half one portion back to the traveller. Has been stamped "cancelled".
