Demonstrates how the SEC used painted signs to advise passengers about fare payment arrangements.Folded metal and painted "Pay as you Enter" sign used on Ballarat single truckers until 1971. Black lettering on a yellow front with a Yellow back. Sign has been manufactured to fit the timber holders that were provided on each side of each door. Demonstrates how the SEC used enamel signs to convey instructions to passengers or to confirm the advice of the conductor and how enamel signs were made. Enamel sign, black capital letters and lines on white background, titled "Passengers Must Not Obstruct the Entrances". Sign has a black enamel backing, with marks from the enamelling process. Photo of the Charing Cross with three bogie trams at the intersection, SEC publicity photo c1950. Two of the bogies crossing on the Eaglehawk - Quarry Hill line have white or cream strips on the lower edge of the body. No 26 has the destination of North Bendigo, though it is on Golden Square line with the driver standing just inside the doorway. In the background is the fountain, the Gardens and Pall Mall. A first aid box, rectangular shaped metal box 180mmHx265mmWx215mm D, painted black, hinged lid with 2 hinges, metal carrying handle on top, and metal locking clasp on the front. Has a white sticker with first aid written in red on the lid, and a gold SECV transfer. On the front of the box, below the locking clasp are the numbers "2787" in a gold transfer. Inside of box is gloss white, there are four metal brackets to hold some kind of partition. In the lid a four brackets to hold some kind of implement, and four corner brackets (similar to photo mounts) to hold something.
