After training as a Cartographic Draftsman within the mining industry, I worked as a property illustrator for real estate firms in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne for 23 years from 1983. I initially photographed houses with a Polaroid camera and made a 'thumbnail' sketch while there. The photos were used to scale off a sketch in pencil and then that sketch was overlaid with drafting film and the 'pen and ink' completed. The pens I used were the Rotring ‘Rapidigraph’ drafting pens. The ink was also made by Rotring (German).The film was ‘Rapidraw’, polyester drafting film, double matte. It takes a very fine line and doesn’t bleed. As well as house sketches, there were often floor plans and site plans ordered. Aerial sketches were ordered when the property needed an overall view. The opening of the Complex on 28 June 1991 marks a significant step in the capacity of the Ballarat School of Mines to provide quality, modern, purpose built and comfortable accommodation for student. Regular and annual minutes of the East Ringwood Progress Association from 2 May 1960 to 20 November 1961. The Nov 1961 meeting discussed the longevity of the Association and formed a sub-Committee to investigate. The Association was having extreme difficulty in attracting members and the valuable work, that it did in the past, had generally been completed, with the Council taking over any outstanding work. The final meeting was convened 20 months later and it was passed that the East Ringwood Progress Association be wound up and disbanded. The accrued funds would given to the East Ringwood Children's Library (see cheque butt) and the other assets to the East Ringwood Community Centre.

The Ballarat Teachers' College opened at Dana Street Primary School in 1926. From 1927-1931 it was conducted at the Ballarat East Town Hall. Returning to Dana Street Primary School in 1946 to 1955, and eventually was held in a costume built facility in Gillies street from 1955 to 1976. In 1976 pre-service teacher training was moved to the Ballarat College of Advanced Education at Mt Helen Campus. This image was hung in the corridor of the School of Education (Mount Helen). It most probably dates from around the time of the transfer of Ballarat Teachers' College to the Mount Helen Campus of the Ballarat College of Advanced Education.
