Financial record - Bank Book, Bank of Australasia, Burnley Melbourne, 1939
This bank book is from the Bank of Australasia branch in Burnley, Melbourne and records the financial transactions of Mrs May Ferguson from July 1939 to June 1944 with an additional entry for 1955. Mrs Ferguson was related to Thomas Ferguson of Dennington, Warrnambool. The Bank of Australasia was established in Sydney in 1835 (Warrnambool in 1854) and joined with other banks in the 1950s to form the present day, ANZ Bank. This book has little local provenance but is of interest as an example of a pass book from the Bank of Australasia, an important early bank in Warrnambool. This is a bank pass book with a dark blue cloth cover. The pages are ruled with black lines and contain printed material and handwritten material in black and red ink. The pages are stapled. There is some scribble on the inside back cover.Mrs May Fergusonbank of australasia, mrs may ferguson, anz bank -
