The Walton Street Fire Brigade building was constructed in 1893 (Rogers, 1973) replacing an earlier building on the site constructed for the Kew Volunteer Fire brigade. The building was demolished in 1941. Kew Tapestry The eight panels depict the history of Kew. This was a 1988 Australian Bi-Centennial Project carried out under the auspices of City of Kew Council and the Kew Historical Society Incorporated. Nearly 600 citizens including many children participated in the production by adding a few or more stitches. A book records their names and the panels upon which they worked. Artist: Joy Stewart Co-ordinator: Dorothy BenyeiSydney Joy (Joy) Stewart was born in Melbourne 1925. She studied at Swinburne Technical College Art School from 1941-1945, then the National Gallery Art School 1946-1948. The Rover Scouts section catered for young men aged 18 years and over. Rover Scout Crews typically took the name of a famous person in Australian history; hence the 1st Kew Rover Crew styled itself as the Flinders Rover Crew. Established in 1870, the National (renamed the Royal in 1890) Agricultural Society of Victoria, uses 'Speed the Plough' as its motto which is embossed on the medal. The engraved part of this medal reads “City of Caulfield Horticultural Display 1981, 1st Prize".Round, gold plated medal measuring 50mm in diameter with "The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria" embossed around edge, an engraved central plate with an embossed representation of a sheep above and cattle below. The engraved side of the medal has "The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria" around the edge, and the engraved part in the middle reads "CITY of CAULFIELD / HORTICULTURAL DISPLAY / 1981 / 1st Prize". Observe side reads "SPEED THE PLOUGH / RASV / ROYAL SHOW".

According to the last page of this booklet, the resolution for passing this by-law was agreed to by Council on the 4th of July 1972, and confirmed on the 1st of August 1972. "City of Caulfield Provisions Governing Meetings Procedure; By-Law No. 151" stapled orange booklet, with two holes punched on the left hand side, and has the words "CR. G.S. Leslie became a service station / garage proprietor at 352 Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert a business he took over from his father. An associated mechanical business operated under the name of Leo Green Motors, at the same address. The family lived next door at 354 Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert. Leslie's father Harry Lobb had operated at an adjoining property (350 Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert) as a fuel and ice merchant, before installing a petrol bowser to service the expanding motor car industry. The Male Hospital in Sunbury was one of the buildings that was within the grounds of the Sunbury Mental Hospital, later known as the Sunbury Asylum, that opened on 1st December 1879 on She-oak Hill ( Jacksons Hill). Patients and staff from the Ballarat Asylum were transferred there. Prior to the establishment of the Asylum, the Sunbury Industrial School occupied the site from 1865. The Sunbury Asylum, later known as Caloola, continued to operate until the 1992.The Sunbury Mental Hospital was an important institution and was the main source of employment for Sunbury residents for 120 years.
