This brief history discusses the Shire of Diamond Valley. The Shire of Diamond Valley was a Local Government Area located about 20 kilometres northeast of Melbourne. Displayed at History House. Belonged to the late Mr. Ernest Newman Frost, who was born at South Melbourne in 1886. His first wife's grandmother was a maid with the Hentys. On the occasion of her marriage they gave her a pair of lamps and this is the base of one.Decorative wooden lamp base (polychromed), gold. Lamp base measures diameter at top 40.5 cm and 72cm at the base height is 62 cm

Beer came in bottles sold at licensed premises either locally or in larger cities visited during shopping expeditions. The shape of the bottles changed. The top tapers to the opening. Half way up the sides it is heavily embossed with R.B. and underneath these letters R. The face of a tiger features in heavy embossing on the side of the bottle. At the bottom around the circumference and on the base is embossing. There is a broken cork sealing the bottle. Sides: R.B. and underneath this R. with a head of a tiger. Video of Rex Mathieson and Ron Cashmore's story about the Schomberg and their experiences diving on the wreck. the video was shown at the Peterborough Hall in January 2017, with live commentary by the divers, and accompanied by artefacts lent to the History Group by Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum.The Schomberg wrecked close to the town of Peterborough and this video is narrated by Rex Mathieson and Ron Cashmore who dived on the wreck over a period of years prior to the Historic Shipwrecks Act 1976. They collected artefacts and took underwater photographs at that time.
