Tickets printed and issued by the Victorian Railways for the St Kilda to Brighton electric street railway or tramway. The line closed in sections with the last section between the railway station and Elwood Depot closing in 1959. All tickets numbered for accounting purposes.Yields information about the VR Ticketting System for its TramwayslSet of 7 Victorian Railways St Kilda Brighton ticket blocks. Printed on white sheets, stapled at the top with a large staple onto a cardboard backing strip. Each value in red ink with black print information. Each block has the ticket number printed on the stub of the ticket that remained with the block when torn off. Were printed in blocks of 200. 1 - 2d tickets nos 178027 to 178199 - for use between Glenhuntly Rd and Carlisle Street. 2 - 3 1/2 - backing cardboard removed and some tickets removed from the rear of the block - Nos. 747011 to 747182. 3 - 4d - Nos. 20007 to 20195 - some tickets at the rear removed including the stubs, 4 - 4d - No.s 513612 to 513791 - cardboard backing and some tickets at rear removed. This globe is unusual as the filament is coiled and held by 5 points coming from the glass piece inside the globe. This light globe belonged to the State Electricity Commission of Victoria and may have been used for a special purpose on the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme.The State Electricity Commission of Victoria built the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme using unique equipment to achieve its construction. Clear glass in the shape of a circular bulge around the filament with a metal alloy at the narrow end with 2 small rods jutting out at opposite ends to enable the light to be attached to a fitting. The filament is made of glass and has a very fine wire on each side extending nearly to the top edge of the glass globe. Land was first selected at Murphy's Flat in 1865. The first Wesleyan church was built in 1866 and from 1869 this was used as State School 149. A purpose built school, No. 1311 opened mid 1876. The areas name was changed to Murphy's Creek in 1915.A blue and white exercise book. Attached within are various subscription receipts in the front and back, including the "Australian Home Journal," "Singer Sewing Machine Company," and an "Annual Audit of Depositors' Pass-books by the State Savings Bank of Australia. The Lidwill machine was designed by Mark Lidwill in 1913, for the purpose of mechanical or insufflation anaesthesia. It was manufactured by Elliott Bros. of Sydney. Shortly afterwards, the Anaesthetic and Portable Machine Company of Sydney devised a machine that was functionally the same but also contained an electric lamp heater.Colour photograph of a modified Lidwill anaesthetic machine sitting on carpet, taken from above. Created for the purpose of bomb delivery from B-24 Liberator aircraft. The item was originally fitted to RAAF Liberator 72-176. During salvage and disposal operations it was damaged losing 50% of the body. It is more likely to have been used for decorative purposes, holding artificial flowers or a pot plant or it may have had some commercial use. This glass dish would probably have been used at the dining table to hold salt, mustard or another condiment. Or it could have been used in an office to hold small pins etc. or it could have held a flower or flowers but it is a little shallow for this purpose. This item has no known local provenance but is retained for display purposes as an item more likely to have been used in past days. This is a small oval-shaped glass dish.
