A humorous post card intended to emulate an official army issued post card used for soldiers to quickly send information home. However the options given on the humorous postcard are contradictory. Postcards were a very common form of communication in the first World War. The flag was made to replace an existing Legacy flag (at the insistence of Myra Healey) that was stolen. Myra was a member of the Upper Yarra Legacy Widows Club. The flag was flown next to the Australian flag in the RSL Memorial Garden. The symbol of Legacy is the Torch and Wreath of Laurel. This flyer represents the historical process of elections celebrated in 1910 in Melbourne Victoria and one of the proposed options. The link to Legacy is not known. Legacy was founded in 1923 by returned soldiers from the first world war. Dr William Nuttall Maloney was a long serving member of Parliament from 1904 to 1940. A chart for taking measurements of the Legacy boys. This was a copy of the form that was kept as an example. The data was of measurements of junior legatee W. Gallagher. The form was signed J. Teirney, which was Jim Teirney who was the first paid employee of Melbourne Legacy, he was the fitness instructor for many years. The date was 1927 so very early in the history of Legacy working with children of deceased servicemen.
