Gives a brief history of the electric tramway operated by the Victorian Railways between St. Kilda Station and the Brighton Beach railway station, that commenced operation in 1905. The booklet was priced 2/-, published by the Traction Publications. The album consists of 30 leaves of dark grey heavy paper with three creases on left hand side of sheet, bound into a heavy bluey grey folder, embossed in gold 'Scrap Book" and bound with bluey grey string with two holes. The cover has been embossed with a the blue grey in swirls. Inside of back cover is a white label, "A New Star Product", with a please ask for No. with "425" stamped on. Postcards have been glued into the album. Entries have been kept to a single line - cards are able to be dated from buildings, whether the trams have marker lights, types of motor cars and general Melbourne history. Based on SEC drawing No. BA-D1-2222, drawn at 1" = 20 chains. Shows streets in Ballarat and Sebastopol areas. 1775.1 - tram lines shown in heavy blue lines, with grey and yellow (actual operating bus routes at the time?) routes marked out. Box 438, Canberra City in 1971, 3rd edition with a small corrigenda sheet. Describes Melbourne s tram car fleet. Includes brief description of each type, photographs and a summary history. Has many photographs of the various tramcars associated with relevant text. On front cover, has W7 1010 with green and black banding and price. On page 1 is a map of Melbourne tramways drawn in 1971, but showing abandoned lines as well. Page ii, inside cover, has a list of Traction Publications. Back cover has a end on photograph of SW6 940.
