Dr. Joseph Clover (1825-1882), an English physician, first described his Portable Regulating Ether Inhaler on Jan. 20, 1877. Clover was an especially sought after anesthesiologist and early pioneer in the specialty. This was the best-known of many inhalers that Clover designed. The dome-shaped reservoir was turned to points on a control dial to gradually increase or decrease the percentage of the air that passed over the ether. Several inventors based new inhalers on this, while the original continued to be manufactured as late as the beginning of WWII.Metal dome chamber with flat base and two circular pains of glass on each side of the dome as viewing holes. There is a long connector tube with an elbow joint attached to a bulb for a rebreather bag. Photographs show the front, side and rear views of male and female models wearing the new brown coloured tram crew uniforms. They include male jacket with gold buttons, trousers, yellow shirt and brown tie. Female brown jacket with gold buttons, skirt and roll neck scivy. These uniforms were introduced for tram crews on the new Z class trams that entered service from 1975. These trams were painted in a distinctive orange and cream livery with brown coloured internal fittings. The photographs were taken against a plain cream wall with brown skirting board and carpet, possibly in part of the uniform factory at Hawthorn Tram Depot. The community hall, originally a shearing shed, was donated to the RSL in the 1950's. Moved from Bill Lewers property 'Hoyles Creek' to Clyde St, Linton. When the RSL closed in 1982 the hall was bought by Grenville Shire council for use as a community hall. The hall was demolished in December 1996 when the Multi Purpose Hall at Linton Rec. Six photos of the exterior and interior of Thomas Kinsella's past residence in grounds of St Patrick's Catholic Church taken 2000. The house "Donanore" was built in 1900 by Thomas Kinsella and was the family residence for many years. The Stawell news of 26.1.1924 reported the arrival of nuns from the order of Sisters of Joseph. The nuns resided in the house for many years. Three of the six photos are of the interior. One of the front door surrounded by stained glass windows. Another a detail of an external door. The third a view of a statue at the end of the hallway. The photograph is of the entrance to the Monastery of Panagia Kathariotissa which is situated the south eastern peak of the Homeric Mount Neritos at an altitude of approx 600. The bell tower offers the most commanding panoramic view of the island. Panagia Kathariotissa is the protector saint of Ithaca and every year on 8th September Ithacans from across the island as well as visitors from elsewhere observe the feast day of the monastery. The workmen are doing repairs to the arched walkway entrance to the Monastery of Panagia Kathariotissa, a project which the Ithacan Philanthropic Society supported as the Monastery was in need of extensive repairs.The monastery of Panagia Katharon dates back to approx. 1696. According to tradition, the monastery was thus named, because the icon of Virgin Mary was found untouched in burning “kathara”, dry vegetation, bushes, in the exact spot where the monastery was built. The bell tower, where one can view the most breathtaking view of the island and surrounds, was destroyed by the earthquakes of 1953 and was later rebuilt.
