Set of 4 drink coasters, with a blue felt back gold plastic front with an impression of a Melbourne tram contained within a black finished cardboard box. Each coaster has the imprint of the Melbourne Tourism logo, 150 years of Melbourne, produced for the Victoria's 150th celebrations 1984-85. Box has the Australian Made logo in gold printing. The coasters feature: Z3 class - 1980 - has a Stephen Daly trademark logo on the rear. W2 class - 1927 R Class - 1266 (Melbourne cable tram) - 1885 x 2 No. T class - 1917 Coasters finished with square corners, while those of the earlier production finished with rounded corners. Set of 3 run number plates used for the vehicle identification system used in the AVM. Item was pushed into a slot of a reader which then recognised the identification through the series of holes on the left hand side. Fitted with metal strips, riveted on, to enable the card to be slotted into the holder by the crew member and then withdrawn when not required. Understood that the tram carried one of these at one end and then another without the holes at the other end. Number has been engraved into the plastic sheet and then painted in black. Used to identify the depot and "run number" or timetable that the tram was running on, two in each tram, to enable monitoring by inspectors and crews. Digital image of two reports and a letter - 41 A4 pages Report - titled "Melbourne's Trams and Tramways - Statement of Heritage Significance", Working Paper 1.1, dated May 2000, by Convergence Design Pty Ltd and Boyce Pizzey Strategic - Page 3 is missing - looks at the development of Melbourne's trams, the element of significance, the tramway system as an entity, Social and cultural influencers, the technological development, including tram design. The two page statement notes the tramway system as an evolving entity and technology.
