David Gordon Collection. Torpedo bottles, also known as Hamilton bottles, were used for aerated or carbonated water. They were oval shaped with a neck at one end, and were deliberately designed so that they could not be stored upright. Torpedo bottles were in common use from the 1840s to the 1870s, when they were superseded by the Codd Neck bottle.

Taken on August 27, 2004, depicted are eighteen people who attended a Direct Seeding event held at Wooragee Hall in Wooragee, Victoria. The event was sponsored by Greening Australia, an independent environmental enterprise. The main speaker (pictured centre) is James Scholfield, a farmer from Hamilton Victoria demonstrating his 'Bandicoot Native Grass Harvester'. This file contains two items: 1/A group of eight letters, predominantly between Hon. Secretary of Caulfield Historical Society R. Ballantyne and members of the Caulfield City Council written between 1981 and 1983, regarding the installation of a plaque in commemoration of the centenary of the Rosstown Railway. The first two letters are handwritten from R. Ballantyne to G. Calder and Carol Camy, dated 01/06/1981 and 22/02/1982. The letter to G. Calder supports a suggestion in the May edition of the CAULFIELD CONTACT for the installation of a plaque in celebration of the centenary of the Rosstown Railway, suggesting a potential site for another plaque on Curraweena Road. The letter to Carol Harry discusses the costing of the plague and a possible contribution towards this cost from the Caulfield Historical Society. The letter appears to be incomplete, having no sign off from the author. Attached to the letter is what appears to be a suggestion for the inscription of the plaque. The letters addressed to R. Ballantyne are typed and dated 12/06/1981, 24/06/1981, 14/07/19891, 17/12/1981 and 08/09/1983, from A. Craig and D.B. Hogan on behalf of City Manager G.K. Calder and City Liason Officer Carol Harry. All letters concern the commemorative plaque, with these from Carol Harry including handwritten notes which appear to be in R. Ballantyne’s handwriting. The final letter is from Mayoral Secretary Norma Polglase to Miss B. Snowball, dated 23/08/1983, inviting her to attend the unveiling of the plaque. Also included in the item are Council Committee Meeting minutes, dated 16/05/1981, broaching the subject of installing the plaque in Koornang Road. 2/Four colour photographs and two black and white copies of one of the photographs, all dated 18/09/1983 and showing the opening of the commemorative plaque in Marrara Gardens. Two photographs picture Mayor Brian Rudski and City Manager Graham Calder with a crowd of unidentified people present. One photograph and both copies are of the inscription on the plaque, with the wording identical to that of the handwritten note by R. This is an election leaflet for Michael Barling who was a candidate in the Federal House of Representatives seat of Wannon in 2013. This electorate is in the south west of Victoria and is the second largest in the State. It includes Portland, Hamilton, Warrnambool, Ararat and Halls Gap. Michael Barling, a teacher, was an unsuccessful candidate, winning 39.9% of the primary vote. Dan Tehan won the seat and is the present Wannon representative. This book contains the names of those on the 1939 electoral roll for Wannon in Victoria. It is an original Federal electorate and was established in 1901. It has had some changes of boundaries over the years. The sub-divisions in the Wannon electorate in 1939 included Branxholme, Casterton, Dimboola, Hamilton, Harrow, Horsham, Horsham South, Jeparit, Koroit, Nhill, Port Fairy, Portland, Stawell and Warrnambool. This book, although tattered and incomplete is a useful one as it has the names of all those on the electoral roll in the Wannon electorate in 1939 and this includes the Warrnambool area. The Guild of St Stephen is an International Organisation of Altar Servers founded in England in 1904 by Father Hamilton McDonald when he formed a Society of Altar Servers at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in London. Document. Two copies of ''An Ode'' typed on flimsy paper. Each copy has three pages. The Ode has eleven six line verses of three rhyming couplets. First verse begins; ''Farewell Sweet Lolanthe till once again we meet. Farewell old growling walker, farewell dear corner seat''. At the end is ''An Afterthought'' of four verses. Possibly written by Alex J Hamilton as a performance script.performing arts, elocution, typewritten verse.

The story behind the coat is that it was created in the early 1920s by F.J.Ellimor,Brunswick furriers, at the request of Mr Walter Tepper. Walter Tepper lived on a property, "Woodlands" at Kewell, near Murtoa. He trapped the rabbits and took the pelts to Melbourne where he commissioned the furrier to make the coat for his soon to be fiancé, Ida. Walter Tepper is buried in the Murtoa cemetery. Walter's granddaughter Carol Michalicek's (nee Schultz) donated the coat to the Murtoa Museum.It is significant as it is a fine example of the use of rabbit skins to create a fashionable coat. It remains in very good condition, 95 years since its creation. The coat has a link to the Tepper family who have resided in the district for over 100 years. This dark brown rabbit fur coat is well tailored, with quality inner lining and a dark, even-dyed coat. There is so much detail in the design of the coat, including a gorgeous heart shaped pocket.
