Badge - SEC pass - set of 27, AMOR, c1950?
Set of 27 Stamped enamelled round brass pieces with a hole stamped at the top and ring placed through. Used as a SEC tramways employees pass for either all Provincial tramways, Ballarat or Bendigo only. All badges have the SEC logo in the centre, organisational name (State Electricity Commission of Victoria) in white enamel and outer ring the words "Electricity Supply Department, Provincial Tramways", or "Electric Tramways Ballarat" or "Electric Tramways Bendigo". This is in blue enamel. On the rear are stamped numbers and manufacturers name - "AMOR" or "AMOR MELB" or "STOKES & SONS MELBOURNE" in the bottom portion of the pass. Items .1 -> .10, .12, .13 individually tagged. Contains entries for monthly records of Units generated and consumed in the Ballarat SECV district from July 1956. For each month to July 1960, records power generated, load factors, maximum demands, traction power, public lighting, domestic, industrial, and commercial, and total sales and for auxiliary equipment at the power stations. From August 1960 to Dec. 1962 duplicated sheets titled "Energy Statistics" that do not give data for sales. See item 9542 for data from Nov. 1949 to June 1956. Ballarat A Power Station not recorded generating during Dec. 1956 then not every month during 1957. Some use during the winter of 1958. Set two SEC memos that were clipped together with item 9824. 1 - titled "Tramways - Extensions" from the Engineer Manager of Electricity supply department (Melbourne) to the Ballarat manager, dated 7-10-1953 - asking for survey information about housing numbers along each route and the possibility of extending the Victoria St and Mt Pleasant routes. 2 - titled "Tramways -Public Passenger transport" - from the Engineer Manager of Electricity supply department (Melbourne) to the Ballarat manager, dated 12-10-1953 - regarding the recent inquiry in Geelong and that data regarding passenger density per hour and passengers per route would be desirable. The tickets, known as "flimsies", have a value of 1 1/2, 2, 3, 4 and 5 pence. The tickets have not been nipped. Some have an Alphabet identification followed by a printed number. Others have a 1 digit number, while others are completely blank. The tickets in Row 1 are labelled STATE ELECTRICITY COMMISSION OF VICTORIA - PROVINCIAL TRAMWAYS" . The tickets in Rows 2 and 3 have the additional wording "ELECTRICITY SUPPLY DEPARTMENT"Row 1, ticket 3 and 4 have the hand written dates 16-9-49 - 30-6-51 in pencil. Row 3, ticket 1 has a stamped date 18 APR 1941, with 18/4/41 being hand written in pencil on the front. ticketDemonstrates a range of tickets used by Provincial Tramways of Victoria.Assorted State Electricity Commission Victoria tramway tickets 1930 - 1972. The tickets, known as "flimsies", have a value of 2,3,4 and 7 pence. One ticket has been nipped, the remainder are unmarked. In Row 1, where the tickets have the additional wording "ELECTRICITY SUPPLY DEPARTMENT", either an alphabetic or numerical identifier is used, and either a date stamp or printed number. Row 2, tickets 1-3, have an alphabetical prefix with a six digit identification number. The Row 3, 7 pence ticket has no identification although there is a label with the ticket which says "BALLARAT ?" The ticket in Row 1 (No 3) appears to have the date 19/4/41 written in pencil on the front face. ticketDemonstrates a variety of Provincial Tramways tourist tickets used by Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong Tramways.Assorted Ballarat Tramway Tourist tickets with a value of 1/- (pre 1966). The tickets are printed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, with ELECTRICITY SUPPLY COMPANY in bold print. The tickets were produced for the Provincial tramways of Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong. Row 1 of tickets has partitioned sections for Town, Year, Day, Month and Date and are available for one return journey on each route. Row 2 tickets can be nipped for the Town, the date, and a space has been left to hand write the full date. Row 2 tickets also provide a space for the Passenger's signature, and can be used for any route on the given date. The tickets are printed on cream or beige card with dark blue ink used for printing. The tickets are not transferable to another person.Row 1 Ticket 1, the years 1944-1945 and 1946 have been crossed out and replaced with 1947-1948 and 1949, printed over in red ink. Its unsuitability to extend, effectiveness of the Geelong conversion, ability of private bus operators, tramway employees, methods of abandonment, tram tracks, overhead and impact on the electricity supply system. Dated 2/4/1968. Has a table showing the income and losses and population from 1935 to 1967, a coloured graphical presentation of tramway statistics, sheet of Fares and Charges for Ballarat.
