This was the second honour board created by Ballarat College to honour the school captain for each year. The first award was given in 1914. Prior to the time the captain of the football first was recognised as captain of the school. At amalgamation (1974) and because the Senior students moved to the Mair Street campus) this board was co-opted to honour Junior School captains. In 2012 the school undertook a major project and created three new boards. One board honours Ballarat College Dux (1868 - 1973) and School Captains (1914 - 1973); another board honours Clarendon Presbyterian Ladies' College Dux and Head Prefect (1919 - 1973). These boards resemble the 1950 re-creation. A third board was instituted in 2012 to honour Ballarat Clarendon College Dux and School Captains (1974 - ) This board emphasizes the value placed on leadership by the school from its earliest beginnings. That the boards have been maintained and consistently displayed in significant places of honour within the school only further emphasizes the historial and social significance of the award 'school captain'. The Pitman Benjamin Prize for Engineering Sustainability is awarded to the Civil Engineering student whose thesis best promotes sustainable engineering. It is awarded in memory of a Heather Pitman, the first woman to graduate in Engineering at Ballarat. The Pitman Benjamin Prize for Engineering Sustainability is sponsored by Benjamin Real Estate, and was first awarded in 2006. Heather was the first female graduate from Ballarat College of Advanced Education and obtained outstanding results. Throughout her career she worked predominantly in local government and for much of that time with the Shire of Ballarat, then the City of Ballarat. During that time she worked as a civil engineer and in planning. Heather was a trail blazer in many respects and was one of the first women to be employed into an engineering position at that time. It was not easy, and she applied for about 200 jobs before being employed by the Shire of Greensborough, north of Melbourne. In 2002 Heather Pitman was Land Development Engineer with the City of Ballarat. The following year she was the City of Ballarat's Manager, Building & Assets. William John Graham McClure (1890-1960) was registered at 47 Miller Street in 1927, with his wife Emma (nee Lindrea) who he married in 1920. William was a hairdresser. By 1931, Cyril Ernest Stott and his wife Ruby Albinia (nee Quinn) were registered at the property. They had married in 1911 and had previously lived at 139 Myers Street. Messrs Wood and Sellars names are on the trophy in recognition of their service to the Geelong Cycling Club.Club volunteers are important to the club and this trophy serves to recognise endeavours in this field. This trophy is in the shape of a wooden column set on two small wooden bases. The second base has a plaque attached to it with the title of the trophy. The column of the trophy has small rectangular plaques with the name of each winner inscribed on them dated from 2006-2016. Johnson undertook this project with a State Library of Victoria 'Creative Fellowship' in 2012, drawing on early botanical illustrations by Sydney Parkinson, Pierre-Joseph Redoute, Ferdinand Bauer and others from the Library's 'Rare Books' Collection. Johnson printed this series in 2013 while working as artist in residence at Baldessin Press, St. Andrews. 'Voyages Botanical' celebrates the untamed treasures of Australia’s (Nillumbik) vast native flower garden. The work speaks to Nillumbik's natural environment and colonial heritage in the context of our national story. Anne Scott Wilson is a video and photography artist interested in memory, motion and the body. Her work often experiments with movement and light exposure over time. Around 1900 the Ballarat School of Mines had an international reputation. it is thought that that this photograph was originally taken by the New South Wales Mines Department during a visit to Victoria. This photograph was reproduced in the Ballarat School of Mines Annual Report 1900 This image is now (2012) used as Founders' Room in the Ballarat School of Mines Administration Building. Cdo Assoc Victoria presented it to Exmouth Heavy AA Assoc. This was because the Krait left Exmouth on the successful Opn Jaywick raid on Japanese occupied Singapore Harbour in 1943. Exmouth Heavy AAA has now disbanded and daughter of a foundation member donated it back to the (post-WW2) Vic Cdo Assoc in July 2012.The former Japanese fishing boat, as MV Krait left Exmouth on the successful Opn Jaywick raid on Japanese occupied Singapore harbour in 1943. The vessel was partly restored, and motored into Sydney harbour in 1964 with former Z Special members on board, including the Jaywick operatives Berryman, Carse, Jones and Young.
