The first section of the Ballarat Post Office was built in 1864, the second (including the tower and offices in Lydiard St) in 1885. The original design had the arched windows on the ground floor (facing Sturt St) forming a colonnade, but these were soon filled in to provide more internal space. Here the Post Office is decorated for the 1956 Olympic Games, when the rowing and canoeing events were held on Lake Wendouree. Mrs Bon Strange and her husband Bert were well known Ballarat residents. Mont Albert was one of a number of local government schools which provided both primary and some secondary education. The term Central School was quite common in Melbourne from at least the 1920's and was used to refer to a school that went up to year 8 or form 2. The reference to the C.S.A. Sports probably refers to the Central Schools Association, or perhaps a shortening of C.S.S.A. (Central Schools Sports Association). A later over-arching association was known as the V.P.S.S.A. (Victorian Primary School Sports Association - now School Sport Victoria.) Photos of an Anzac Day service in at the Australian Military Cemetery in Harefield UK in 1996. The local school children march to the cemetery to place wreaths, there is a parade of flags, a service and a choir. Legacy provided flags for the headstones. During World War 1 the Australian Auxiliary Hospital No.1 was stationed at Harefield Park in Harefield, UxBridge, Middlesex UK. 111 Australian soldiers and one nurse from the hospital are buried at St Mary's Church, Harefield. This became an Australian Military Cemetery with individual headstones and an obelisk and arch. The headstones which are of a scroll design unique amongst Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemeteries were chosen by the staff and patients at the hospital. The arch was erected by the CWGC. Anzac Day services are held there and the local school became involved with the headmaster, Mr Jefferies, bringing the school children to lay flowers on every grave and attend the service on Anzac Day. This started in 1921 and has continued until at least 2021. One school child who attended was Mr Alf Young, he made contact with Legacy in the 1990s and sent photos of the Anzac Day Services and the cemetery. Legacy responded by sending Australian flags for the school children and also Legatee John Cohen met with Mr Young when in London. Melbourne Legacy staff member Susie Howard also visited Mr Young and the cemetery in 1995. Mr Young provided historical photos and information of the area to Legacy. St Aidan's Orphanage, Bendigo. Black and white photograph (11.5cm x 7cm) of the construction of a building at the orphanage with three statues and rose plantings in the foreground. The words 'Bendigo Orphanage’ is written in pencil on the reverse. A small stamp, possibly with the words - by Harringtons - is over stamped with the number 3 53. This photo was probably taken in 1930-1 during the construction of the second orphanage building, two storeys and to the east of the 1905 building. Four page, double sided copy of chapter titled 'The Enclaves' from 'Bendigo, The German Story'. Reference to the Heinz, Schroeder and Helm 'long tunnel' at Diamond Hill, described as the finest example of its kind on Bendigo. The 'German Arches' in the tunnel were constructed by miners who bought their skills and experience from the Harz Mountains. Other prominent Germans were Friedrich Adolph Hermann Schilling, Louis August Samuels and Ruschmeyer's, who owned the Town and Country Hotel, Diamond Hill.

The 2 cannons in the gardens were acquired by Mr Arthur Brookes, popularly known as 'Empire Brookes'. They were from a British vessel used during the Crimean War and were originally placed in the grounds of the Guildford Road Recreation Oval. The Dimmick Gateway was erected in 1950 by the citizens of Camberwell in memory of Cr William Dimmick, JP, Mayor of Camberwell, 1935-1936 and a Councillor from 1934-1947. There is a photo of him in Mayoral robes in the City of Boroondara Library Service collection. Cr Dimmick was commonly called Roy.Black and white photo of the Dimmick Gateway in Surrey Gardens. The gateway is built as if it was designed to have a fence attached but there is none. There are 2 tall central pillars and an arched bridge to 2 smaller pillars. It appears to be constructed from a variegated slate material. There is a light on the top of each of the tall pillars and also a plaque. To the RHS of the photo is part of the Surrey Shrine, skirted by 2 cypress trees. The canteen is part of the Mission to Seafarers building that has catered to visiting seafarers since 1917. The canteen is operated by the Flying Angel Club, which offered services to seafarers including food, drink and souvenirs from the canteen and events held in the main hall which invloved the use of the canteen. The Ladies Harbor Lights Guild also used the canteen facilities for functions and fundraisers held at the Mission to Seafarers. One of the flyer in Chinese helps dating the photograph between 1963-66 when Padre Wong was chaplain at the Mission.Historical record of the Mission to Seafarers canteen post-1963. Yields information about the appearance and the use of ESCo tram 12 in Victoria St and has a strong association with those photographed on the steps of the tram.Digital Copy of a photograph purchased by David Critchley from E-bay, of ESCo No. 12 in Victoria St Ballarat, c1925, possibly at the King St loop. Tram has the destination of Orphanage, a Viceroy Tea advertisement, a Coliseum roof advert and an "Pay as You Leave" sign. Note the positioning of the tram number on the route footsteps. The tram still has track brakes and the footstep boards are yet to be cut back or shortened.
