Nine pages of notes and one page of copies of parcel tickets between the years 1937 - 1972. Included is some of the history of the SECV tramways. Also a short history of the tramways in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong. Descriptions of the various tickets, quantities, stock on hand and the number used during the year. There are also notes on the closures of the Provincial Tramways. Attached to the front are two letters, one to Mr Hayes from Felicity Kingerlee thanking him for his article. The second is a letter from Mr Hayes to Miss Kingerlee about enclosing notes on parcel tickets of the SECV Provincial Tramways. Randall Collection: Selection of badges relating to R Bruce Plowman. 7782.7a three brass and enamel badges, with pins; 7782.7b card from donor describing the badges: Description there of ''St Andrews PWMU'' badge - this is actually inscribed on the badge as: ''PYMBC Union of Victoria''; the 1937 Centenary badge is described by the donor as burning Bush group's but this is not noted on the badge itself; 7782.7c handwritten note from donor explaining some detail as to Plowman family and donor's father - he was an Elder at St. Andrews (when Rev. McLean was minister), he was known as the ''Man from Oodnadatta'' re this Australian Inland Mission work, he was at some stage President of the Bendigo Competitions and on the committee.

Rae's School was opened on the 22nd April 1861, with 22 students. Mr. John Rae was the Headmaster. By 1919, it was an adjunct of the Violet Street State School.Sepia coloured postcard . Donald Paterson "Don" Turnbull (28 May 1909 - 30 January 1994) was a tennis player from Australia. He won the men's doubles title at the Australian Championships twice, in 1936 and 1937. Turnbull represented Australia in three Davis Cup ties, including the 1933 Europe Zone final against Great Britain. Photos include 1935 Davis Cup team. Album is now empty. Idylls of the King,first published between 1859 and 1885, is a cycle of twelve narrative poems by the English poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809–1892) who was the Poet Laureate from 1850. It retells the legend of King Arthur, his knights, his love for Guinevere and her tragic betrayal of him. The book was given by Emmie Gibbs as a Christmas gift to Hilda Wehner. Hilda Wehner was the daughter of Herman Wehner (1862-1937) one of Orbost's early blacksmiths.A small red cloth covered book with a black motif on the cover. Rita Teagle House belonged to Tom Fielding's grandparents (Margaret Teagle and Richard Fielding). It was at top of the hill on right hand side (no. 10 Thomas Street, Eltham) Pictured is a bungalow behind the main house. These were added on every time more children came along. Rita was born 1910 and married Horace Maclaughlin in 1935. They had a son, Brian Lawrence Maclaughin (1937). This bottle has been issued to a customer of Shilton's Pharmacy 11 9 Liebig Street, Warrnambool. The bottle contained tablets to be taken for a cold. Harry Shilton bought the business in 1937 and added a chiropody clinic and a hairdressing salon and he was known as the " Man in White.' . In 1953 Harry Shilton took on a partner Alan Anderson . Harry Shilton retired in 1960 and Alan Anderson continued as the proprietor, transferring the partnership to John Lindsay in 1967. The name Shilton was still used until 1972. Matches and match boxes were common and essential household items in the 19th century and early to mid 20th century. Today matches are used only irregularly. This match box holder was an advertising tool for Roy Pearson who had a motor service station at 100 Kepler Street, Warrnambool in the 1930s. The business was called the Super Service Station and Pearson was the agent for Triumph and Citroen cars. He sold petrol and used cars and did car repairs. In 1937 the business was run by Chorlton and GrahamThis item is of considerable interest showing the type of advertising used in Warrnambool in 1935. Apart from its utilitarian use of holding a match box, it is an advertising tool containing a 1935 calendar and it also uses humour as its main appeal. The holder features a face which shows a happy man when held one way (“This man calls at Pearson’s Service Station for satisfaction’) and a grumpy man when it is turned around (‘This man wishes he did call’). This is a metal match box holder, painted blue with yellow printing and an image of a man’s face. It has a 1935 calendar. It is much rusted on the inside and a little blotched on the outside. ‘Roy H. The Tawonga Primary School was a weatherboard building built on 8 acres. In 1900 a fire destroyed the building and its records. The school was then moved to the Old Tawonga Hall before a new one was built in 1910 on land donated by Frank Cooper. In 1937 and 1954 further buildings were added. Tobacco farming and the building of the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme increased the number of pupils during the 1950s and 1960s. This glass represents the celebration held when the school became 100 years old.Tawonga Primary School was established for the children of the farmers of the Kiewa Valley in 1880 and later for children of the tobacco farmers and workers on the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. Several items were given by a seafarer, Mr Nicholas Garlick (1926-2009) into the care of Father Brady who retired from St Pauls Cathedral, Melbourne in 2018. Father Brady later donated the collection of; objects, documents and an extensive collection of cruise ship menus (1937-end of 20thC) to the Mission via the intermediary William Hastie, volunteer at the Mission for Seafarers. This particular item provides an example of a ticket for a Greek ferry the 'Apostolis' boarded on the 13th August 1949 by Mr Garlick's sister.This ferry pass for the Greek ferry 'Apostolis' is made of thin, cream-coloured paper. On the front of the ticket the official details are printed in Greek. The passenger details are hand-written in Greek. On the back is a note written by Mr Garlick. Front; see image for details. Trophies were awarded to recognise achievements in many areas of the school curriculum. Sir Kenneth George Luke (1896-1971) was a successful businessman and VFL football administrator. K.G.Luke was a private mint that made 1956 Olympic Games medals for the Numismatic Association of Victoria. It operated between 1937 and 1974. It was sung by Jeanette McDonald and Nelson Eddy in the musical "Maytime" "Carry Me Back to Old Virginny" is a song which was written by James A. Bland (1854–1911), an African American who wrote over 700 songs. It is an adaption by Bland of the traditional "Carry Me Back to Ole Virginny" popular since the 1840s and frequently sung by Confederate soldiers during the American Civil War. This felt deer was made by Helena warren of Newmerella. The deer was exhibited in the Royal Melbourne Show in the 1950's. Helena Francis Warren (nee McKeown) was married to William John Warren and lived in Newmerella. She was a fine amateur photographer who supplied the photos for the Back-To-Orbost celebration book in 1937 and also designed the Back-To-Orbost badge. She was known for her soft toy making. The Australian Natives' Association (ANA), a mutual society was founded in Melbourne, Australia in April 1871 as the Victorian Natives' Association. Ballarat branch (No 4) was founded in 1874, had a building in Camp Street and was one of the most active branches in the colony, playing a key role in Federation. The medallist, K.G. Luke, was a private mint that made 1956 Olympic Games medals for the Numismatic Association of Victoria, as well as a considerable number of other medals and trophies. It operated at least between 1937 and 1974. A gold coloured medal featured an a white enameled Australia with the words A.N.A. Rev. Archibald E. Newton (1893 - 1959) entered Home Mission work at Waratah. He commenced his ministry in 1927 at Mt. Lyell and Strahan in Tasmania, and subsequently served at Wynard (1930), Wycheproof (1933), Traralgon (1937), Pascoe Vale & Merlynston (1943). He was appointed chaplain to metropolitan gaols in 1941, and from 1946 he was chaplain to gaols and hospitals, including mental hospitals. He parish was known as the "Pitiful Parish". Emma Thomas Collection: Items were owned by Emma Courtis, nee Thomas (1854-3/3/1937. Family lived in Hamelin St, White Hills. Clothing items possibly made by Emma or a local person in White Hills area and used around 1890s. Emma's family include Elizabeth Penrose (mother), Solomon Thomas (father), and Richard Courtis, a blacksmith (her husband). John William (Jack) was the son of William and Mary Sneddon and brother of Alan. William Sneddon was a postman in Surrey Hills for many years. His father James ran an estate agency in Surrey Hills established by his father in the 1880s. William's wife was Mary Sneddon (nee Bird). Jack was born in 1908 in Camberwell. In 1937 his address was 19 Albert Street, Surrey Hills.
