The author, Michael Hiscock, is a descendant of Liardet (brother of Penny Blazey, gt gt gt grandaughter). He brought this copy of the Journal to the 1999 'Lee-ar-day' event and donated it to the Society.An account of the life of 'Wilbraham Frederick Evelyn Liardet: Romantic visionary of the Beach 1839-1862" by Michael Hiscock - article in LaTrobe Library Journal vol 13 no 54 pp 4-14. Also contains article on sculptor James Gilbert, and Liardet sketches. Centre fold-out has excellent reproduction of Pier Hotel in its heyday.
