Black and white negative, by Wal Jack, of S class 168 on the western road at Footscray Tram depot. Two other S Class cars are behind 168 and on the other roads is a further S Class and X1 Class car. Shows the depot layout. There are three buses in the yard - advised by Paul Kennelly via David Kemp by e-mail: Two Leyland Cubs sandwiching a Federal B20, all with MMTB Preston Workshops bodies. The Leyland Cub closest to the camera is No 49 new 8/1936. This bus had been re-engined to Diesel by this time. May explain the missing engine cover. The other Leyland Cub maybe in the same 41-50 number sequence. Certificate, Hawthorn Tramways Trust (HTT), "Hawthorn Tramways Trust - Certificate of Competency as Motorman", 1919
Bound book of 100 Certifications - "Hawthorn Tramways Trust - Certificate of Competency as Motorman". Consists of 100 pages of certificates, numbered 1 to 100, with butt of each certificate retained in the book. Bound with heavy card covers, red coloured on the outside of the covers, stapled with black binding material. Each Certificate numbered, in top left hand corner, giving date, employee name, date of birth and signed or initialled by the Engineer and Manager. In the top left hand corner of the book is printers logos - The Prahran Telegraph Printing Co, King St, opposite Town Hall, telephone 108W. Most certificates issue 29.12.1919. Certificates 1 to 58 issued by HTT 59 and 60 issue with HTT crossed out and MMTB written in. 61 to 75 and 92 to 99 removed from book and No. 100 removed altogether. No. 74 is loose. Digital image of MMTB No. 133 at the Burwood terminus, Toorak Road (was Norwood Road), mid to late 1930's. Tram has the destination of "Melbourne" On the corner is T. E. Turner Chemist shop. Also a shop advertising the Melbourne Herald. It would appear from the insulators in the overhead, that the line has been duplicated to the terminus (1934 - Melbourne Timeline history book). Set of seven black and white prints of prototype tram 1041, during its first days of commissioning and testing in the city and on the Wattle Park route. All printed on Kodak paper. .1 - at Preston workshops, showing City, route 088 .2 - ditto .3 - ditto - 2nd copy added from donation of Geoff Warburton added 10/10/17. .4 - In Riversdale Road, Wattle Park, showing W. Park Elgar Rd, route 070. .5 - ditto, but showing special and route 000 - trees behind the tram had been faded out. .6 - turning out of Bourke St into Spring St with destination of E. Brunswick, route 96. Has been painted with words "Welcome Board" and "Enter here" on front door. Has the Windsor hotel in the background.
