These 4 black and white photos are very clear and are of Bogong in the 1940s when the Kiewa Hydro electric Scheme was being constructed. Bogong was the first construction site. Bogong was a township and construction site for the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme built by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria. These photos in the early 1940s (during WW2) tell the story of fire, flood and living conditions with the inference of transport being horses in 1940 compared with its development in 1944.1. A group of widows at Legacy House some with exercise balls being taught by Instructor Bill Stevens who ran the classes for many years (at least from 1996 to 2001). Melbourne Legacy ran an excellent exercise program for its widows for many years at Legacy House. Similar to photos 00619 and 00620 which show exercise classes in 2004, although this is another day. These were with photos that appear to be from 2001. Glad Cozens is in 00891.1 in navy shirt, other names not known. A publication by the CFA giving detailed information, images, maps and photographs about the bush fires which blazed across Victoria and southern New South Wales from November 2019 until brought under control in February 2020.non-fictionThe 2019 - 2020 fire season, which became known as "Black SUmmer" was long and difficult for the CFA, emergency services and communities across the eastern seaboard of Australia, especially in northeastern and eastern Victoria. By its conclusion more than 8,200 CFA volunteers had contributed to the fire response in Victoria and another 2,288 CFA volunteers had been deployed interstate. THe bushfires burned 1.5 million hectares, destroyed more than 400 homes, 6,800 livestock and thousands of native animals. Tragically 5 people also lost their lives. Bendigo's first ceremonial dragon, the "Duck Bill" dragon appeared in Easter parades 1892-1898. "Moon face" only appeared in 1900. "Loong" paraded from 1901-2019 before being retired due to it's age and fragility. In the meantime "Sun Loong" was seen from 1970-2019.
