Correspondence Notes on the "Boomerang" Interceptor 18/8/42 Correspondence re setting up aircraft industry in Australia - between W S Robinson, A G Brown (CAC), S A Middleton (Austral Development Ltd London.), Douglas Aircraft Company, F Mitchell, BHP,, Essiungton Lewis BHP, Australian William S. Robinson had been Managing Director of Broken Hill Associated Smelters, based in London. He had played a key roll in negotiating the British Zinc Corporation’s investment in mining at Broken Hill NSW and formation of the resultant Australian business The Zinc Corporation. Returning to Australia, he was appointed to high levels of Australian Government during the Second World War to formulate policy on wartime demands for Australia's industrial and metals supply. Robinson was held in high regard by successive Prime Ministers and was a close associate of Essington Lewis, head of Broken Hill Pty Ltd (BHP). W.S. Robinson was a strong believer in aviation and business and air transportation having backed the purchase of two DH.84 Dragons in 1933 by associate company Western Mining Corporation to carry out a 12-month aerial photographic survey. He promoted the formation of Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation at Fishermans Bend, Melbourne to ensure Australian production of military aircraft.

In 1994 the City of Moorabbin was integrated into the Cities of Bayside, Glen Eira, Kingston and Monash. Members are asked to assist GECC Arts & Culture Dept. with information about the Caulfield Repatriation Hospital. Fran compiled a brief history of the 'Garden Suburb of Ormond, Henry Lawson and ANA Society with a contribution from Rosemary Kelleher describing her father Brian's love of poetry. All members are invited to attend the final Open day on November 29th to join with the Henry Lawson Society and ANA for their Annual Brian Kelleher Memorial Picnic . Photographs of the CMHS at Bunnings, Stanley's Menswear and the 'Unmentionables' display at Box Cottage are included in this issue. This milk tester is a little instrument designed for testing the quantity of butter fat In any given sample of milk. The whole manipulation takes only a few minutes, and is so very simple that anyone can work it. A table supplied with the instrument shows at a glance, not only the percentage of butter fat, but also the proportion of same per gallon, the quantity of the milk required to produce each pound of butter, &c., so that there is no calculation ' at all required. Mr. Max. Pincus, who Is tho maker of the "Weigel Tester, shows tho remarkable accuracy of tho instrument. By request he tested a sample of the milk about to be separated, and the result as given to the Government dairy expert showed that the quantity of butter from the churning should be 59 lb. The actual quantity of butter as weighed (after adding 2 lb, of salt) was 61 lb., thus showing that the test agreed perfectly with the churning. In his report to the Minister of Agriculture, the dairy expert expresses himself as very pleased with the working of the Weigel test.
