By grand final day, Geelong was in the midst of a 26 game unbeaten run, and Collingwood posed few problems on the big day. The Cats triumphed by 46 points after a dominant second half. Geelong posted a 16-2-1 record in the home and away campaign and defeated Collingwood by 54 points in the second semi final. Grand final day was a prosession with back-to-back flags wrapped up by three quarter time. "Two hundred men of the Holy Name Society made a striking spectacle on March 26 when they marched through the streets of Daylesford to the Town Hall for a Communion breakfast, after Mass at St. Peter's Church, which concluded a tridium for the men of the parish, conducted by Rev. Father Whelan, P.P. There were many "New Australians" present. Among the visitors present were Mr. C. Condon, Mr. F. Frawley and Mr. Hooper, of the Melbourne Diocesan Union executive of the IIolv Name Society, and also eight members of the North Melbourne branch, beaded by their president, Mr. V. Sheahan. The president of the Daylesford branch (Mr. J. A. Gleeson) proposed the toast of "The Hierarchy and Clergy," to which Father Whelan and Father Moynihan, P.P.. responded. Mr. H. Poulson, vice-president, proposed the toast of "The Holy Name Society," and appealed for in increase in membership. Mr. C. Condon responded. The toast of "The Visitors" was proposed by Mr. H. Lilburne, who referred to the unavoidable absence of Father Day, spiritual director of the society. Mr. V. Sheahan and Mr. Hooper responded." The Wenborn family acquired Ferguson's Lot 19 of the Village Settlement where the original Mount Dandenong School was opened in a shed. WH Collom owned the land after Ferguson and then it passes to the Wenborns. This photograph shows Jim Wenborn with his wife Ivy and daughter Mary. The Wenborns had another daughter, Joan. Both children attended Mt Dandenong State School. John Lundy-Clarke grew up in the Kalorama/Mt Dandenong area and later in life (1972-74) began to write a comprehensive history of the area working from an original settlement map in an effort to cover all areas.Black and white photograph showing a man and woman seated in a garden. Jim Keogh owned Lot 7 of the Village Settlement. When the new CRB road went through c1920 his block was cut through leaving a small triangle of land on the high side of the CRB road.
