WW1 Killawarra State School 1914-1919 Honour Board contains the names and photographs of teachers and past students who enlisted for military service during World War 1. Owen Francis Private 68800; William Francis Robertson,Sergeant 981/Lieutenant KIA 7/6/1917: Lubin James Robertson,MC and Croix de Guerre L/Cpl 980/Lieutenant; Christopher George Everitt 5882 Died of Wounds 26/4/1918; James Samuel Everitt 3319 KIA 18/7/1916; William John Rhodes 917, Henry Rhodes 2779, Robert Ernest Payne 5215,KIA 15/4/1918; Joseph Adams 10296, Albert Reginald Coppin 57084, Thomas Rhodes, Reserve - Enlisted 15/7/1915 did not embark - discharged medically unfit on 29/4/1916 due to meningitis and lumbago, Henry Sumpton 1827, James Joseph Kellow 6836, William Patrick Toohey 1750 and David William Quinton Clarke 44233 School Teacher Enlisted 15/5/1916 and discharged on 11/7/1916 due to urgent family reasons. Robert "Ernie" PAYNE was a cousin to William,Henry and Thomas RHODES. The latter was 1 of 6 lives lost when they drowned in the disastrous floods of the Ovens and King Rivers on 7/6/1917.A timber and glass framed Honour Board containing 15 names and 11 black and white photographs of teachers and past students of Killawarra State School who enlisted for military service during World War 1. Following the closure of the school the Honor Board was donated to the Wangaratta RSL Sub Branch. This is a booklet giving the names and addresses of voters for the local Council in Levy’s Ward in the City of Warrnambool in 2002. At that time the Warrnambool City Council was divided into seven Wards with one Councillor representing each Ward. The seven Wards at that time were Levy’s, Botanic, Cassady, Pertobe, Proudfoot, Sherwood, and Wollaston. In 2004 the Wards were abolished and seven Councillors then represented the whole City of Warrnambool. In October 2024, the Warrnambool municipality covered 120sqkms and returned to a seven ward council. In 2024, the wards were Botanic, Central, Hopkins River, Pertobe, Platypus Park, Russells Creek and Wollaston. In 2002 Glenys Phillpot was the Councillor representing Levy’s Ward. This booklet is of interest as it contains the names and addresses of those enrolled in Levy’s Ward in Warrnambool in 2002. It will be a useful booklet for researchers. This is a booklet of 22 pages containing the names and addresses of voters in the Levy’s Ward of Warrnambool in 2002. The cover is yellow and the booklet is bound with black taping. The printed list of names is in black type. These badges feature an image of the British nurse Edith Cavell. She was shot by a German firing squad in 1915 for assisting Allied soldiers to escape from Belgium. ... Roll of Honor - Dennys Lascelles Ltd ...Honor board containing the names of the staff of Denny Lascelles Ltd. who served in WWI: Sergt. Wm Mathews, L. Cpl. N. McT. Evans, Lieut. Frank H. Lascelles, Lieut. H.T. Burn, C.J. Long, Captain H.H. Storrer, Lieut. Harvey Freeman, John Cameron, Allan Jenkins, S.E. Scott, R.D. Briers, Percy White. Four people on this list were killed in action: Lieut. Francis Hope Lascelles was killed on Weds, 22 Aug. 1917. He served with a British regiment, the 42 Coy, Machine Gun Corps (Inf.) and has no know grave but is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium; Harold Thomas Burn was a 2nd Lieut. with the 58th Bn, Aust. Inf., AIF and was killed on Sat. 23 Dec. 1916 aged 27. He is buried at St Sever Cemetery in Rouen. Henry Haigh Storrer was a Captain with the Australian Flying Corps and was killed on Sun. 2 Dec. 1917 aged 28. His brother died at Gallipoli in 1915. Henry Storrer is buried at Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord. Lieut. Harvey Freeman served with the 11th Coy, Aust. Machine Gun Corps and was awarded a Military Cross.
