Set of six photographs showing Domain Interchange or Junction including trams and buses in St Kilda Road. Photos by Bill Kingsley who lectured in Civil & Traffic Engineering at Footscray Technical College. These would have been taken to show how an interchange functions. Dated on an envelope with negatives as 13/10/1971. 1 - Tram stop showing shelter, SW6 886 (City) and Melbourne Brighton Bus No. 660 (City, route 602). Trams have been fitted with marker lights. 1 - SW6 886 - inbound in Wallen Road (Route 70), passing the Hawthorn depot - note the backhoe in the yard, the Hail Cars here sign on the left, and the work site near the top of the hill 2 - SW6 851 (Wattle Park route 70) shows the location of the tram stops that served the depot. Report on PCC type tramcar No. 980, 6 pages + blue print graph of acceleration compared with SW6 886 contained within one bound document titled "Performance of PCC Car No. 980". Dated 31/8/1951. Report looks at some safety concerns of the tramcar - rollback when starting on a steep positive grade, bucking of the car, high rate of acceleration and controller settings. Documents stapled on left hand side and bound with adhesive tape. Two copies held.
