Watts, from S.R. Birch, Administrator of National; Trust of Australia (Victoria)re: Suburban Hotel, Corner Whitehills Road & Gleeson Street, Bendigo. Letter brings to Council's attention the planned alterations to the hotel facade, with endeavors to retain the historic appearance of the hotel's exterior, namely the verandah which runs on both frontages. The verandah is within the Whitehills title boundary but not along the Gleeson Street frontage. This portion of the verandah is not on the City's existing By-Law on post supported verandahs; and therefore, consider excluding the Gleeson Street verandah from the By-Law provisions. Removal of this portion of the verandah affects the appearance of the hotel and is worthy of retention.removal of non-cantilever verandahs and replacement with cantilever verandahs -
