Memorandum stating that the wearing of uniforms by registered nurses will no longer be compulsory at the Alfred Hospital effective immendiately (24th September, 1993). This followed on from a uniform trial and survey held in 1991. Choice of non-uniform should take into consideration occupational health and safety, and infection control. Guidence was also provided re clothing choices. It was also noted that Identification badges should be worn above the waist, so staff could be easily distiguished.
