Ballarat Tram 26 travelling around Lake Wendouree. This tram was built in 1916 for the Hawthorn Tramways Trust and numbered 5. It was renumbered 111 by MMTB in 1920. In 1930 it was sold to the Electric Supply Company and again renumbered to 23. Passed to the SEC in 1934. Model of Ballarat tram 26 in SEC green and cream colour scheme. The Modeller has detailed the seats in side the end saloons. Balsa wheels had broken off, repaired with 'O' gauge wheels along with other parts by the Museum's model builder. Tram has the destination of Victoria St.Demonstrates model tram building. Colour postcard size print of SEC Ballarat trams 13, 26 and bogie car in the City Loop. Photo dated 23.11.1962. Printed on AGFA paper. In background is Morseheads building and another single trucker heading onto Bridge St. Tram 13 has "Twin Lakes" sign in multiple colours on front panel, 26 has briquette ad and the bogie car has an SEC Ad as well. Bogie car has front or east trolley pole up, as if to run back to Bridge St. All trams fitted with dash canopy lighting, but not the large white strip on the front panel. Demonstrates a souvenir item for the opening of the electric tramways in Ballarat in the form of a postcard, one of which has actually been used to send a message. Ballarat tram 26 at one of the Gardens Loops, c1937 with the destination of City. Possibly, the photo was taken prior to the introduction of through routing of trams introduced in August 1937 when trams no longer terminated in the City at Grenville St but ran through the city to another terminus.
