The photo shows VR.1 (Second Fleet) with a “St. Kilda” destination sign, likely travelling from Brighton Beach. This tram entered service in 1907, built to replace the First VR Fleet that were destroyed by fire in the same year. The depot fan is progressing, No. 1 road points have been installed, overhead troughing to No. 2 and 3 roads installed and the transformer is by No. 1 road door. Date possibly 16 June 1973 - based on the list of dates in the 1972 - 73 Annual Report.
