Mt Beauty Workman's Club was formed in 1945, re-built and opened in 1954 and again in 1962 and 1968. The Bowls club was founded in 1970 and later was affiliated with the Victorian Ladies' Bowling Association (VLBA) and the North Eastern District LBA in 1974. There were strict rules regarding the Bowlers' uniform.The Mt Beauty Workman's Club was built by the SECV in 1945 to service their employees on the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme. As Mt Beauty grew it became the centre of activity for residents including the Bowling Club. The British Empire & Commonwealth Games took place at the Dalkeith Bowling Club in Perth, Western Australia from 19 November until 1 December 1962. The bowls competition started several days before the official opening of the Commonwealth Games. The published list of representatives does not include William Forrest Passmore so it is assumed that he was an emergency or one of the support staff.Green wool blazer owned by William Forrest Passmore of Ascot Vale (1901-1980). The pocket is embroidered with the Australian Coat of Arms, underneath which is embroidered the image of a lawn bowl and the date 1962. The owners name is sewn at the back of neck. The inaugural meeting to form Harcourt Bowling Club was held in May 1955. Cr Ben Bingham donated half an acre of land in Bagshaw st Harcourt and the club acquired a small building from Blight's Quarry to serve as a clubhouse. The first day's play took place on 24th October 1959. New clubrooms were built in 1961 with the official opening of the Club held on Saturday 11th November 1961. The club became affilaited with Bendigo District Bowling Assocaition and, in 1966/67 won the Associated division 3 pennant. ; Depicts a group of men, the core ‘movers and shakers’ of the Harcourt community, in the course of their favourite recreation, Association champions in just the seventh year after formation..
