This Johnson Bros. (USA) Locomotive Type Boiler was from a steam shovel (that moved on rails) that excavated rock and soil during the construction of Stevens Weir near Deniliquin NSW in 1934. It has a working pressure of 100psi. This is an example of a fire tube boiler where the fire from the fire box heats the water surrounding the fire tubes running through the boiler, smoke escapes out the smoke stack and the steam is captured in the dome and sent through pipes toward other engines in the Port of Echuca Steam Display. Two glass gauges are fitted on the side of the firebox. Two safety valves are fitted at the top of the boiler to maintain the correct and safe pressure. It still functions today for visitors most days of the week.A good example of the technology and industrial history of the Riverina region of southern NSW and northern Victoria. It is an integral part of the Port of Echuca Steam Display running secondary engines off the steam produced within this boiler. Robert Raikes was an Anglican philanthropist heavily interested in prison reform via education. He was a pioneer of the Sunday School movement. Schools were organised on Sundays as most children worked 6 days a week in factories, mines etc. Initially the Sunday Schools were only for boys. When the Eastern Mail Centre opened in 1992, it was the biggest suburban mail centre in the country. Front of each box is printed with a medical caution, the name of the medication, and contents. The left-hand side of the front of each box is printed with a decorative blue square at the top corner, above three orange squares. The name of the manufacturer (Novo Nordisk) is printed at the bottom right of the front of each box. Back of each box is printed with storage instructions, manufacturer details, and a line of three orange squares along the left-hand edge. Bottom of each box is printed with an expiry date and a batch number. One box has an expiry date of '26.10.95', and the other has an expiry date of '02.03.96'. Each box contains a set of 28 tablets in a circular plastic case, consisting of 10 white tablets, 6 orange tablets, and 12 blue tablets. The centre of the case contains a white circle of plastic, imprinted with abbreviations for the days of the week along its outer edge which align with the tablets in the case. Each box also contains an instruction book printed in black text on white paper.

The building in the photograph is the Boiler House which was part of the former Sunbury Asylum. It was built in the 1920s to replace an older boiler. Coal and/or briquettes were burned to produce hot water and steam which was used to heat and supply hot water for the Asylum buildings. Steam attendants monitored and maintained the furnace and boiler seven days a week. It ceased production in October 1992 and since then has served as an Arts and Cultural complex for the local community. Blivets were developed in the 1960s and 70s. The small package contained jellied petrol which had a small electric match or detonator wrapped around it. They were mainly used as high intensity slash burns and could be wired-up days or weeks before they were required. The blivets were arranged in concentric circuits to develop a large convection column. But the circuits were prone to damage by wildlife if left out too long. DAIDs were also taped to blivets as mini “Molotov Cocktails” and thrown into patches of dense or hard-to-access slash. The back pack and webbing was the infantry soldiers 'house on feet'; whilst on patrol, he carried all that was required for days/weeks at a time with some re-supplies during the course of time sometimes; it was common practice to slide into the backpack whilst prone on the ground and then slowly turn and rise to standing as the most convenient of loading up.Despite the effort required to patrol long distances with a heavy load, many soldiers had a close affinity with the backpack and webbing as it provided him with comefort and necessities during an Operation.Standard issue of infantry back pack and webbing kit for carrying of day-to-day needs whist on patrol or other duties.
