East Charlton Hotel built 1875 by J. Flug was sold to G Luth in 1875 then to G Klug. The hotel was rebuilt in 1892 and 1925 (Spanish style). Luth's store was established by Flug in 1870's and sold to G Luth in 1875. G Paterson purchased the store and business in 1990's. East Charlton Hotel built in 1875 by John Flug to replace his original log and bark inn built 1863. The first inn was about 100 metres behind this building and it was Charlton's first commercial building. The hotel was rebuilt by C. Klug in 1891. It was rebuilt as a two storey building in 1925.
