In May 2000, the Victorian Mounted Rifles Squadron 4/19 Prince of Wales's Light Horse relocated from its depot, Buna Barracks Albury to a new depot at Building 105 North Bandiana. The relocation included the regiment's heritage collection, and its heritage vehicles needed to be moved. Buna Barracks had been home to the 8/13 VMR since 1948, and to the city's citizen soldiers for fifty years prior to that. Following the move the historic Drill Hall was demolished and the land sold for residential development. Prior to 1939 access to the Island was by punt from San Remo or car ferry from Stony Point. A bridge was opened in 1940 but increased traffic and low load capacity was a problem. North Deborah Mine in Eve Street, Bendigo, operated between 1937 and 1954. In that time it produced 128,000 ounces of gold.Newspaper article titled '24 Tons of Winding Gear'. Scar Trees – Lubeck. Five photos of Scar trees on the property of Bill Kinsella near Lubeck. The double sided Canoe tree was removed to a park in Horsham on a low loader in 1997. The five photos are spread over 3 photo albums. Album 10 p33 (270) has 1 colour photo of a scar tree, this photo is tree as in Album 24 p30 (bottom right) but a different view. Album 14 p87 has 2 photos (270.1 & 270.1a) the one on the right is the same as the top one in Album 24 p30. Newspaper Clipping from The Courier, October 1971, titled "Tram 42 Retires as a Church Kindergarten", with a photo of tram No. 42 being manoeuvred into the Zion Congregational Church yard in Sebastopol on a low loader, with the church in the background. Notes that tram was delivered by SEC workmen and that the foundations had been prepared for several weeks prior to delivery. People mentioned in the story are Rev Syd Munn, C. Merrett, SEC I. The P.S. Alexander Arbuthnot was the last of the paddle steamers built at Koondrook, for the river trade in 1923. Owned by the Arbuthnot Sawmills. She was used to bring timber in from the forest to the sawmills to be processed from logs to timber. She was later owned by Evans Bros and then Barmah Charcoal Ltd. She sank at Yeilima, re-floated in 1973, placed on a low loader and taken to Shepparton for preservation. Echuca city council bought her for the Port of Echuca in April 1989. She was bought to Echuca in December 1991 to complete her restoration by shipwright Kevin Hutchinson. She is now used as a passenger vessel and is licensed to carry 47 passengers. The P.S. Alexander Arbuthnot is a reminder of the past life on the river. Being the last paddle steamer built for the river trade in 1923, the Alexander Arbuthnot is a reminder of the past life on the river. Licensed to now carry 47 passengers, she was used by the saw mills to bring timber in from the forests to the sawmills. A timber planked, monohull, side wheeled paddlesteamer with a 8hp horizontal Ruston Hornby steam engine. It has a flat bottom and mutiple decks.
