Article in Trust News. In 1988 Nunawading City Council purchased 2.5 hectares of an historic property which has been owned and occupied by the Matheson Family since 1914. It is one of the last working orchards in Nunawading. A Management Plan includes an environmental living program which aims at providing an overnight experience for children, giving both an experience how the property was operated as an orchard in the 1920s and 1930s. Lorraine Loader was a resident of Peterborough and a keen golfer who's home in Schomberg Road overlooked the fourth fairway and was a valued member of the club. Fred Moore was a long time holiday maker with a house in Robertson St, whose children continue to visit. This event is played on the long weekend in January and is very popular as non handicapped players can play. Draw for partners, no handicaps required, and it is a 12 hole event.
