This photograph was taken on the occasion of the wedding of Frances Ayers to Norman Nobelius, grandson of Carl Axel Nobelius who founded the Gembrook Nurseries. The wedding took place at St Mark's Church, Emerald on 25 September 1948 followed by a reception at New Cafe, Emerald. This mantle clock was given to Norman Nobelius by his parents Rupert and Flo Nobelius on the occasion of his marriage to Frances Ayers in 1947 and was subsequently inherited by their daughter, Pauline. Rupert was the son of Carl Axel Nobelius, the famous Emerald horticulturalist. This clock was a gift from the son of the famous Emerald horticulturalist, Carl Axel Nobelius.Ansonia mantle clock with ornate oak case with metal pendulum and a brass key c1940s. Round metal face with Roman numerals.
