The cash account books are both historially and socially significant as the entries give an insight into the growth of the company. They also detail payments from both local and government offices, overseas customers, and significant companies, associations, and people.
Physical description
A hardback accounts book bound in dark green cloth with a rusty red leather spine. The front cover has a faded white paper label on it pertaining to the dates the book was used. The inner covers are made from decorative marbled paper in navy blue and white. The inner front cover also has the stationer's label on it. The book itself has 189 pages, all of them having been used. On the last page, a typed sheet has been glued in detailing the accounts of nursery debtors.
