The Post War Planning Report was prepared by Leslie M. Perrott & Partners: (City Planning Consultants) and according to the report, it was submitted to the Council of the Municipality of Caulfield through its Special Committee on Post War Planning. The report has no evident date however the introduction text suggests that it was prepared before the end of World War II. The report is the only known extant copy and therefore considered rare. Bound report with grey cover titled: "Report to the Post War Planning Committee Caulfield City Council". Interior pages include x83 pages typed text printed on blue print paper; x3 pages copies of black and white photographs; 10 blueprint plans. 86 pages consistent in size with book cover, 10 x blueprint plans varying dimensions, folded and bound within the report. Printed on white sticker on spine of book "LH 994. 51" and on first page inside "CAULFIELD LIBRARY SERVICE REFERENCE BOOK" and on the verso of this page, another stamp with CAULFIELD LIBRARY SERVICE and LH REF 12/7 hand written in black ink and a 14 digit reference number below this. On the back of the last plan in the book, there is a blue stamp with "REFERENCE BOOK TO BE USED IN THE LIBRARY ONLY". Below this is a black and white barcode with a black line through it and a round, blue sticker beside it.

Photocopied bundle of papers relating to Kathleen Mary Gibson (neé Everard) and plaques at the Rocky Creek War Memorial Park (near Atherton in northern Queensland). First page is some sort of correspondence or speech by Mary Gibson outlining her process of having a plaque for the 2/2 Australian General Hospital added to those at Rocky Creek, that Veteran's Affairs paid for it and that she attended the unveiling of other plaques at the Rocky Creek War Memorial Park. Second page is a photocopy of article 'Mary's adventures continue' from p9 of the Riverine Herald on 23 August 2002 with a photo of Mary in uniform looking at a plaque mounted on a rock. The article is about her 'quest to dedicate a plaque to the 2/2 Australian General Hospital' where it was located during WWII. Third page is a black and white photocopy of a panoramic photo showing the arches near a carpark that indicate the 'Rocky Creek War Memorial Park : Their service our heritage'. Fourth page is a black and white photocopy of a panoramic photo showing some people in military uniforms and many others in loose lines in the mid ground and large gum trees in the background. The photo is annotated with handwriting and an arrow 'NASHOS / wore BLUE / SHIRTS'. Fifth page is a photocopied page showing a table titled 'Rocky Creek War Memorial Park Plaque Summary (Sorted by Unit Number)'. It includes the Unit, date of unveiling and other basic information. Sixth page is a photocopy of the Program of Events that took place on Sunday 11 August 2002 at the Rocky Creek War Memorial Park VP Day "Military Muster" including the unveiling of the 2/2nd Australian General Hospital plaque by Mary Gibson. View of Hinkley Guest House on the left where the Post Office occupied a room in the front corner. The post operated from 1912 until 1937 when the building burned down. The Post Office then moved up to one of the Cadby Cottages near Rostrevor. Volunteers were called for to assist in this cholera ward; a disease highly contagious and with a terrific death rate. This meant isolation, but did not deter many men from offering their services, Bob and Kevin Arrowsmith being selected.” - Through the Burma-Thailand Railway, pp234-5, author unknown This post card is significant for its rarity as very few ever made it through and were saved. The Sunbury Post Office with a residence pictured in the image was the first official post office building in the town. It opened on the corner of Brook and Evans Streets in 1892. Prior to that time postal services were conducted in an office at Sunbury Railway Station. Although the present day post office is still on the Brook-Evans Streets corner, the building has undergone many changes in services and appearances over the years. Like many country towns, the post office offered many services to the residents over the years. The first European settlement of the area around Barnawartha was in 1836 when Joseph Slack established a pastoral run, primarily for sheep. At the time, Barnawartha was known as the crossing place where horse-drawn passenger coaches and mail run would cross the Indigo River. Although no major amounts of gold were found there, Barnawartha grew as a provider of food and services to the goldfields. The Barnawartha Post Office opened on August 1, 1860. Our Collection includes several photographs signed BONSEMA WODONGA or sometimes simply TBW. Thomas Peter John Bonsema was born in Wodonga in 1876 to Peter John Bonsema and Mary Ann nee Nash. His name first appears on the Electoral Roll for Wodonga in 1909 and on the Electoral Roll in 1912 he is listed as a photographer. His photographs capture many scenes and events around Wodonga and surrounding areas. Thomas Bonsema married Minna Louisa Jones in 1912. By 1914 he had moved to Chiltern, Victoria where he established Bonsema’s Photographic Studio. From this time onward many of his works bore the signature “BONSEMA CHILTERN”. As well as continuing to photograph landscapes and important buildings, Mr Bonsema was often the official photographer at school and community celebrations. He also sold many framed photographs and postcards from his premises at 68 -70 Conness Street, Chiltern. By 1943 Thomas John Bonsema had relocated to New South Wales and died in Beecroft, NSW on 14th July 1944. Some of his photographs are held in the Victorian State Library and Mitchell Library Sydney Collections.These images are significant because they are the work of a recognised photographer Thomas Bonsema who was born in Wodonga in 1876.
