Sunshine Harvester Works Golf Club 1940 Club Champion won by Rupert J. Rowe. Rupert was the foundation vice-captain of the Sunshine Harvester Works Golf Club.Sunshine Harvester Works Golf Club 1940 Club Champion won by R. J. Rowe This trophy was won by my father, Rupert J. Rowe in 1940, a year when World War II was getting underway. He knew Mr. Youngman's trophy would be a very expensive one and he asked that the value of the trophy be donated to patriotic funds. My father's pleasure was in the game of golf and ability to become the Club Champion. The donation was made, and the club decided to mount the winning ball on a blackwood timber base, which matched the timber of his furniture on his home.
