Historical information

Seafarer playing snooker in the Billiard Room.

Significance

This photograph shows that the room marked "Billiard Room" in gold lettering on the door, was once used exclusively for that purpose, although no longer.
Billiards was once a very popular pastime for visiting seafarers. The billiard table has long since gone and the room is now used as a karaoke and music room. There is still the option of playing pool or table tennis but these have been moved out in the main hall.
