Significance

The significance of the sundial and plaque is that it reminds us of the many Alfred Hospital nurses willing to serve their country.

Physical description

This iron sundial and plaque was donated by family and friends of Sister E.M. Rutherford in 1953 ,an Alfred Hospital Nurse who graduated 1935, in her memory as she died on Hospital Ship Centaur in WW11.
